Client: is the primary operating subsidiary of Dutch firm Eureko, provides insurance and financial services in the Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg. The company sells life, non-life, health, and disability insurance under several brand names. It also sells directly over the Internet through its FBTO unit and through brokers. In addition to its insurance operations, the company provides mortgage lending and retail lending services, as well as private banking for high-net-worth individuals.
Project aim: This IT project was intended for creation of various kinds of business reports based on Java, Java Server Pages technology, Tomcat Server, and Oracle system for operating relational databases. The request of "Achmea," a large Dutch investment company, was the ability to simply create particular components (tables, graphs, texts, pictures, etc.) based on entry data (from stock exchange, market, etc.), which would then be added to the business report that is being generated. Another component is an overview of the reports' archives. Considering the confidential nature of the data, the need for the safety feature of the system is particularly stressed. This information system is completely created as Internet/intranet application.
