What is a DevOps engineer?
A DevOps engineer is someone who is involved in the entire development of software: from the design at the drawing board to the testing and delivery of the product.
DevOps is relatively new and has much in common with scrum and agile. It is a fusion of development and operations. The advantage of this is that the roll-out of the software components also lies with the person who was at the cradle of its development. Projects are completed faster this way and errors are less likely to creep in.
What does a DevOps engineer do?
A DevOps engineer ensures that everything within IT runs smoothly and connects seamlessly. A DevOps engineer also ensures the security of a system. Tasks that belong to a DevOps engineer are the development of new functionalities, maintenance releases, testing of new software, automation and optimisation of software and much more.
